Player in the spotlight (Carlos Vela):

Carlos Vela

Carlos Vela has become recognized as one of the top players from Mexico over time. He was born on March 1, 1989 in Cancun, Mexico and started his career with Guadalajara. He then transferred to Arsenal’s youth academy in 2005. After appearing in just 29 Premier League matches for Arsenal, the speedy left-footed winger signed with Real Sociedad.

Carlos Vela has appeared for several teams such as Celta Vigo, Salamanca, Osasuna, and WBA on a loan basis before becoming part of Basque team. Currently, he plays for Los Angeles FC and it should be mentioned that he scored 14 goals in 29 games during the 2018 MLS Season. Vela is known for his innate talent, speed, intelligence, and excellent technique.

Carlos Vela did well to win two CONCACAF Gold Cups with Mexico national football team (2009, 2015) and he was named Real Sociedad player of the year in the 2011/2012 and the 2013/2014 seasons. His main position is right winger, but he is used as a second striker and a centre-forward as well.

Highlighted Team (Nashville):

Nashville

Nashville recently joined Major League Soccer as a franchise, officially established on December 20, 2017. The Yellows played their first MLS game on February 29, 2020, facing off against Atlanta United at the Nissan Stadium.

The game took place in front of 59,069 viewers, and Nashville lost 2-1. Nissan Stadium was inaugurated on August 27, 1999, and has a capacity of 69,143 attendees. On August 13, 2020, Nashville achieved their first victory in the MLS by defeating Dallas while away. The game was held without an audience due to concerns about the rapid spread of coronavirus.

David Accam, a player from Ghana, was the sole scorer in the game. The team’s main colors are bright gold and deep blue, and their emblem features a gold octagon with the monogram “N”. When playing at their home field, Nashville’s soccer players wear yellow shirts and shorts, and their away jersey primarily consists of blue.
