Los Rojiblancos are eager to record their first win of the season and a triumph over Oviedo should see them escape the danger zone. Victor Campuzano is pushing for a rare start after scoring as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Almeria, while Jordy Caicedo remains doubtful. Los Azules, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-1 loss to Racing Santander.

As Real Oviedo struggle on the travels, we believe that the time has come for Gijon to register their first triumph of the process. All Ahijado, Dotor, and Colombatto are pushing for a start for the visiting team as Javi Calleja is expected to make changes to the team that faced los Racinguistas at the weekend. In their last meeting at the venue Gijon defeated Oviedo 1-0.

Sporting Gijon are a Spanish football club that competes in La Liga. Sporting Gijon’s home ground is El Molinon, the stadium that was built in 1908. El Molinon is the oldest football field in Spain and the capacity of the stadium is 30,000. Sporting Gijon’s home kit is red and white and the club’s main rivals are Real Oviedo.

The two teams take on each other in the Asturian derby. Sporting Gijon did remarkably well to finish the 1978/1979 La Liga campaign in second position in the standings and that is considered the club’s biggest success.
