DR Congo vs Zambia Prediction & Betting Tips | 17/01/2024 | Football

Our forecast for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations game:

DR Congo

DR Congo

Zambia

Zambia

The Africa Cup of Nations match between D.R. Congo and Zambia will take place at Stade Laurent Pokou. Both teams are vying for a top-two spot in Group F. The Leopards hope to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat in their previous warm-up game against Burkina Faso, but they will face a tough challenge against Zambia. One player to watch on the home team is 29-year-old forward Fiston Mayele, who scored numerous goals during the qualifiers. Veteran striker Cedric Bakambu has also been included in the team.

The Copper Bullets, on the contrary, tied 1-1 with Cameroon in their most recent match before AFCON. At the moment, Zambia and D.R. Congo appear to be evenly matched, and after considering all factors, we think that bettors from everywhere can potentially benefit from wagering on a tie. Leicester City’s striker Patson Daka will be the focus for the visiting team.

The game will take place on January 17th, 2024 at 9:00 PM.

Prediction:
1-1

Player in the spotlight (Cedric Bakambu):

Cedric Bakambu

Cedric Bakambu is widely recognized as one of the top African forwards. He previously represented France as a youth player and competed for les Tricolores in the 2010 UEFA U19 European Championship. His greatest achievement in international play was when France defeated Spain in the tournament’s final.

Cedric Bakambu, who had previously played for France’s youth teams, ultimately chose to play for the senior team of DR Congo. He made his debut for the Congolese national team against Cameroon and scored his first goal for them in a 2-1 victory over Angola on March 26, 2016. In terms of his professional club career, Bakambu played for Sochaux from 2010 to 2014 before transferring to Bursaspor on September 1, 2014.

Following his impressive performance of scoring 13 goals in 27 games for the Turkish team, Bakambu joined La Liga team Villarreal on a five-year contract on August 19, 2015. He has remained a player for the Yellow Submarine since then. Bakambu, who is from Congo, made his first appearance for Villarreal on August 23, 2015, during a 1-1 tie against Real Betis.
