Highlighted Team (Charlton):

Charlton

Charlton Athletic are yet another capital club that will compete in the 2019/2020 Championship season. Founded back in 1905, the Red Robins welcome their opponents at the Valley, the stadium which can hold up to 28,111 spectators. Charlton Athletic wear red shirts and white shorts when playing on home soil, whereas black is the dominant colour of their away kit.

The achievement of winning the 1946/1947 FA Cup is seen as the greatest triumph for the club. In the final match, the Red Robins emerged victorious with a 1-0 win over Burnley, thanks to a goal by Chris Duffy in extra time, under the leadership of Jimmy Seed.

Charlton’s biggest rivals are Crystal Palace and Millwall, both from the capital. Samuel Bartram, who played for the team 579 times, is a well-known footballer who represented the Valley outfit. The London-based club will be competing in the second division of English soccer for the 2019/2020 season after being absent for three years.
