We anticipate the outcome of the Africa Cup of Nations 2024 match.

Nigeria

Nigeria

Cameroon

Cameroon

The focus will be on Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny as Nigeria and Cameroon face off in the Africa Cup of Nations round of 16. The Super Eagles hope to continue their momentum from consecutive victories against Ivory Coast (1-0) and Guinea Bissau (1-0), relying on their strong defense in Saturday’s match. Everton’s Alex Iwobi and Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman are both expected to start after being rested in the previous group game.

The unstoppable Cameroon team, after an exciting victory against Gambia, will now face Nigeria. As long as there are no new injuries, Rigobert Song is not expected to make any changes to the winning team from the last group match. However, a home victory may be more likely for Nigeria, as they appear to be a stronger unit compared to Cameroon, who were fortunate to advance to the AFCON knockout round.

The game will take place on January 27, 2024 at 9:00 PM.

Prediction:
1-0

Highlighted Team (Nigeria):

Nigeria

The Nigeria Football Federation manages the African national football team of Nigeria. The team, known as the Super Eagles, is famous for their green and white uniforms, and has played impressive football in the past. They have successfully qualified for six out of the last seven World Cup finals (as of 2018), and have reached the top six in the tournament three times.

Jay-Jay Okocha, Taribo West, and Nwankwo Kanu are renowned Nigerian footballers. The Nigerian national team, known as the Super Eagles, played their inaugural official game in October 1949 while under British rule. It is worth mentioning that in April 1994, the team was ranked 5th in the FIFA rankings, making it the highest ranking ever attained by an African national team.

Nigeria has emerged victorious in the African Cup of Nations three times – in 1980, 1994, and 2013. The team also achieved second place in 1984, 1988, 1990, and 2000.
