The Tykes, an English team, were established in 1887 and are commonly referred to as Barnsley. Interestingly, they have spent the most seasons in the Championship compared to any other club. Initially, they competed in the Sheffield and District League, but in 1895 they joined the Midland League. Oakwell, the stadium constructed in 1887, serves as the home ground for Barnsley.

The stadium has a capacity of 23,009 and was established in 1888, only a year after the club was founded. In 1910, the Tykes reached the FA Cup final, but were defeated by Newcastle United in the championship match.

Despite this, Barnsley achieved their greatest accomplishment in 1912 when they won the FA Cup trophy. This was their first and only time winning the prestigious trophy, after defeating West Bromwich Albion in a two-legged tie with scores of 0-0 and 1-0.
