Established in 1880, Antwerp is one of the longest-standing clubs in Belgium. The team hosts their opponents at Bosuilstadion, which can hold up to 16,144 spectators. Antwerp is famous for their red home uniforms, but they also wear white shirts and jerseys when playing away matches.

In recent history, Antwerp has made efforts to narrow the distance between themselves and Belgian powerhouses Anderlecht and Club Brugge, but they have not been able to secure a championship title. The team, known as “The Great Old,” first won a domestic trophy in 1929 and then repeated the victory in 1931. They also won titles in 1944 and 1957.

Beerschot A.C. is known as the team’s strongest opponents, but they also have a rivalry with Club Brugge. In the past, the club leaders had a long-standing partnership with the renowned English club Manchester United, where Antwerp sent talented football players on loan to Old Trafford.
