Antwerp, established in 1880, is among the longest-standing clubs in Belgium. Their home stadium, Bosuilstadion, can hold up to 16,144 people and is where they host their rivals. Antwerp is recognized for their iconic red home uniforms, while they don white shirts and jerseys for away games.

Antwerp has been attempting to narrow the distance between the Belgian powerhouses Anderlecht and Club Brugge for many years. However, they have not been able to secure a championship title in recent times. The team first achieved a domestic trophy in 1929, and then repeated the feat two years later. Their third and fourth titles were won in 1944 and 1957, respectively.

The club’s biggest rival is Beerschot A.C., but they also have a rivalry with Club Brugge. In the past, the club leaders had a long-standing partnership with the well-known English club, Manchester United. Antwerp would loan young football players to Old Trafford.
