King Charles III has been released from a hospital in London following a procedure on his prostate.
King Charles III and the Princess of Wales have both been discharged from a private hospital in London after undergoing separate medical procedures, causing a stir in the UK media about the health of the royal family.
The 75-year-old ruler was hospitalized at the London Clinic on Friday to receive care for a benign enlarged prostate. The princess, previously known as Kate Middleton, has been receiving treatment at the central London hospital for the last two weeks after undergoing abdominal surgery for an undisclosed ailment.
Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla, left the clinic around 3 p.m. on Monday, greeting supporters and ignoring inquiries from journalists. The princess’ office announced earlier that she had gone back home to recover, but it was not disclosed when she left or seen leaving the hospital.
Buckingham Palace released a statement expressing gratitude to the medical team and everyone who assisted during his hospital visit. They also conveyed the king’s appreciation for the kind messages he has received.
Charles, who became king 16 months ago, received a diagnosis of an enlarged prostate on January 17th after experiencing undisclosed symptoms. He postponed events and was advised to rest prior to the surgery, which took place on Friday afternoon.
The monarch chose to make the surgery announcement beforehand in hopes of motivating other males to get their prostates examined in accordance with public health recommendations.
According to her office at Kensington Palace, the princess is making positive strides in her recuperation. On Monday, it was reported that the wife of Prince William, who is next in line for the throne after his father Charles, had a scheduled surgery on January 16.
The palace did not give any additional information, but stated that her condition was not cancerous. The future queen, who is 42 years old, has postponed her public appearances until after Easter.
