Grimsley 4-star DE Bryce Davis commits to Clemson over Duke

Clemson has added another top rising senior defensive lineman from North Carolina.

After receiving a commitment from Southern Durham 4-star defensive tackle Isaiah Campbell in January, Grimsley 4-star edge rusher Bryce Davis announced his pledge to the Tigers on Saturday. Davis and Grimsley held a commitment ceremony in the high school’s auditorium.

Davis, a 6-foot-3 and 265-pound prospect, chose Clemson out of a top four that also consisted of Duke, Georgia, and South Carolina.

He is a consensus 4-star prospect. Rivals has Davis ranked as the No. 51 class of 2025 player in the country. 247Sports has him No. 64, ESPN has him No. 77, and On3 has him at No. 151.

During his sophomore season, Davis was selected to the HighSchoolOT All-State Football Team as a Third Team selection. He had 85 tackles, 24 tackles for a loss, 12 sacks, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and a blocked punt that season.

The rising senior missed the bulk of his junior season with a knee injury. However, in two games, he recorded 17 tackles, three sacks, an interception, and a forced fumble. Davis is fully recovered and expecting a big senior season with the Whirlies.

Davis is a consensus 4-star prospect according to On3, 247Sports, ESPN, and Rivals. Rivals has Davis ranked as the No. 51 prospect nationally in the class of 2025. ESPN and 247 have him in their top 75, while On3 is the lowest on Davis at No. 133.

Grimsley finished the 2023 season with a 13-1 overall record and won the Metro 4A Conference.
