Changes made to rosters for basketball all-star games

A number of roster changes for the East-West All-Star Basketball Games have been announced by the N.C. Coaches Association.

There have been three changes to the girls rosters and six changes to the boys rosters.

On the girls side, Laynie Smith of Chapel Hill and Zamareya Jones of North Pitt have dropped out of the all-star game for the East team. Neither player will be replaced. The East team started with 11 players and will compete with nine.

For the West girls team, Dot Mills of Pisgah has dropped out of the game and is being replaced by Kierstin Johnson of East Wilkes.

There were two changes to the East roster in the boys game as well. Ari Fulton of Westover and Paul McNeil Jr. of Richmond have dropped out of the game. Neither player is being replaced, so the East team will compete with eight players.

The West boys roster saw four changes, and all four players who dropped from the game are being replaced.

Jerquarius Stanback of Asheboro is being replaced by Jonah Ridgill of Chatham Charter, Santana Lynch of Lake Norman will be replaced by Dominic Payne of Trinity, Maurio Hanson of Chambers will be replaced by Jordan Lineberger of Hickory, and Richard Goods of Grimsley will be replaced by Jeremiah Howard of Concord.

The East-West All-Star Basketball Games will be played on Monday night at the Novant Health Fieldhouse in the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. The girls game will tip off at 6:30 p.m. with the boys game beginning at approximately 8:30 p.m.

HighSchoolOT will have full coverage of the all-star games this week.
