Jordan All-State RB Amareon Blue commits to Eastern Michigan

At the end of June, Jordan High School running back Amareon Blue committed to Eastern Michigan University. The Eagles are a Division I FBS team that competes in the Mid-American Conference.

The class of 2025 rusher is a 5-foot-8, 195-pound prospect. he rising senior is the son of former University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill player A.J. Blue.

Blue was selected to the HighSchoolOT All-State Football Team as a sophomore in 2022 and as a junior in 2023.

Over his two seasons as a varsity starter, Blue has rushed for 4,419 yards and 64 touchdowns. He has averaged an even nine yards-per-carry so far. As a receiver, Blue has caught 25 passes for 181 yards and two touchdowns. He has also played as a safety on defense, although his playing time there dipped last season to save his legs. He has 96 career tackles, including 11 tackles for a loss, a half sack, four interceptions, five pass breakups, and two forced fumbles.

As a recruit, Blue received verbal offers from Boston College, Bethune-Cookman, Troy, Temple, Old Dominion, Eastern Michigan, Gardner-Webb, Charleston Southern, Charlotte, Morgan State, Howard, and Maine.

Jordan finished the 2023 season with an 8-4 overall record. The Falcons made it to the second round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association’s 4A East playoffs, where they lost on the road to eventual state runner-up Hoggard.
