Mount Tabor 4-star safety JaDon Blair picks Notre Dame

Mount Tabor High School safety JaDon Blair announced his commitment to Notre Dame on Friday afternoon.

The decision was announced at his high school in front of his teammates and other supporters.

“I want to thank God for allowing me to be in this situation … I wouldn’t be in this situation if it wasn’t for Him. Secondly, I want to thank my coaches and my family as well, just for pushing me to be the best version of me,” Blair said.

Blair is a 6-foot-4, 195-pound senior from the Class of 2025. All major recruiting websites rate Blair as a four-star prospect. According to On3.com, he is the No. 4 overall prospect from his class in North Carolina and the No. 8 safety nationally.

Notre Dame was one of the schools Blair visited this summer. He also took visits to Florida State, Louisville, Michigan, Penn State, South Carolina, and Virginia Tech since April.

In 13 games as a junior last season, Blair recorded 56 total tackles, including three tackles for loss. He also intercepted four passes, returning one for a touchdown, and recorded one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Blair also played some snaps on the offensive side of the ball. He caught 10 passes for 255 yards and six touchdowns last season. He earned a spot on the HighSchoolOT All-State Team.

Notre Dame has three commitments from safeties in the Class of 2025. Blair is the first player from North Carolina in the class to commit to the Fighting Irish though.

In addition to the schools Blair visited this year, he also had offers from Alabama A&M, Charlotte, Duke, East Carolina, Georgia Tech, James Madison, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Mississippi State, NC State, Temple, Tennessee, Wake Forest, and West Virginia.

Blair also plays basketball at Mount Tabor.
