The Carolina Hurricanes are making moves to start the NHL Draft. Instead of using its first-round pick at No. 27, the Hurricanes traded it to the Chicago Blackhawks for two second round picks on Saturday – No. 34 and No. 50.

The 2024 NHL Draft started on Friday with round one in Las Vegas and finishes on Saturday with rounds two through seven.

The Carolina Hurricanes are now scheduled for 10 picks, beginning with No. 34 overall in the second round on Saturday. Coverage of round two through seven begins at 11:30 a.m. and moving to NHL Network and ESPN+.

This is the first NHL Draft for the Carolina Hurricanes with Eric Tulsky as the General Manager, however Tulsky has been with the organization for the past 10 seasons.
