Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps square off against each other at Providence Park in what is expected to be a close MLS encounter. Portland aim to build on a 2-1 win over San Jose Earthquakes, but Sunday’s clash will be anything but a walk in the park for the home side. Bear in mind that all Miguel Araujo, Kamal Miller, and Maxime Crepeau are on international duty, while forward Marvin Loria misses out with a knee injury.

The Canadian outfit, on the other hand, aim to recover from a 3-2 loss to New England Revolution. Vancouver Whitecaps and Portland Timbers, though, seem to be evenly matched at the moment and we predict that they are going to share the spoils at Providence Park. As for the visiting team, both Ali Ahmed and Andres Cubas are on international duty, while both Alessandro Schopf and Sam Adekugbe miss out with illness and calf injury respectively.

Vancouver Whitecaps are yet another Canadian side that compete in Major League Soccer. Vancouver began play in the USA top flight in 2011 and one year later they became the first Canadian outfit to book their place in the MLS Cup play-offs.
