Based in Portimao, Portimonense is a Portuguese football club that play home games at Estadio Municipal in Algarve. The capacity of the stadium that was opened in 1937 is 9,544. Portimonense welcome their rivals in black and white shirts and black shirts, whilst yellow is dominant colour of their away kit.

The black and whites finished the 1984/1985 Primeira Liga campaign in 5th position in the standings and, as a result, booked their place in the UEFA Cup. Portimonense did well to Partizan 1-0 on their debut in the European competition, but they suffered a heavy 4-0 loss to the famous Serbian club in the reverse fixture at Yugoslav National Army Stadium.

Fellow Algavre clubs Farense and Olhanense are considered the club’s main rivals. Jackson Martinez is one of the most notable footballers who played for the club. The Colombian attacker is considered one of the most successful attackers in the history of Porto as he scored 67 goals in 90 appearances for the Dragons in the Primeira Liga.
