Based in Lancashire, England, Morecambe are a professional club that compete in the League 2. The Shrimps were founded in 1920, and they welcome their home rivals at Globe Arena. The venue, which was opened in August, 2010, can hold up to 6,476 people.

Morecambe wear red shirts and red shorts when playing in front of home fans, while yellow is the dominant colour of their away kit. Fellow Lancashire-based club Accrington Stanley are seen as the club’s fiercest rivals. The Shrimps have rivalries with the likes of Lancaster City, Fleetwood Town, Barrow, Kendal Town, and Southport as well.

In 1974 Morecambe won the FA Trophy as they defeated Dartford 2-1 in the title game, and 14 years later they lifted the Conference League Cup trophy. The Shrimps secured promotion into the Football League with a 2-1 win over Exeter City in the 2007 play-offs final.
