Our forecast for this game:
Notable Player (Kalidou Koulibaly):
Although he was born in Saint-Die-des-Vosges, France on June 20, 1991, Kalidou Koulibaly represents his home country of Senegal when playing on the international level. He initially played for Saint-Die during his youth years, but also had a stint with Metz at the beginning of his professional career.
The defender, who predominantly uses his left foot, remained a part of les Grenats at the highest level. It should also be mentioned that he participated in 42 games for the team in the league before transferring to Genk in 2012. In 2014, Koulibaly inked a 5-year contract with Napoli for a cost of £6.5 million. In August of the same year, the Senegal-born player played in his first Champions League match for Napoli, achieving a 1-1 tie against Athletic Club.
Kalidou Koulibaly is a tall and agile athlete with impressive strength on the field. He excels in the air and is skilled in both centre and fullback positions. He joined the Senegal national team in September 2015, playing against Namibia, and also represented the Lions of Teranga at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2017.
Highlighted Team (Gabon):
In April 1960, Gabon played their first international game at the L’Amitie tournament. However, they were defeated by Burkina Faso in their debut match. The Gabon national football team has never competed in the World Cup, but they have reached the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations twice.
The Tunisian team defeated Les Pantheres at the 1996 African Cup of Nations, while Gabon faced a tough opponent in Mali at the 2012 tournament. Gabon’s striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund, was a standout player and scored three goals for his national team during the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. However, he missed a crucial penalty against Mali in the quarter-finals.
In 1999, Gabon was crowned champions of the UNIFAC Cup and had previously won the UDEAC Championship in 1985 and 1988. Stade Omar Bongo is known as Gabon’s main stadium.
