Sarah Strong is now the fourth player to be named Gatorade NC Player of the Year for a second consecutive year in girls basketball.

Grace Christian School’s Sarah Strong has earned the title of Gatorade North Carolina Player of the Year in girls basketball for two consecutive seasons.

There have been four girls basketball players from North Carolina who have won the award multiple times, including Strong. The others are Saniya Rivers (Ashley), Jatarie White (Providence Day), and Cierra Burdick (Butler).

This season, Strong had an average of 21 points, 16.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game. In the state championship game, she scored 30 points and grabbed 21 rebounds in an impressive 83-33 victory against High Point Christian School. Strong’s exceptional performance earned her the prestigious title of NCISAA All-State.

Strong ended her time in high school with a total of 2,302 points and 1,628 rebounds.

The 2024 USA Women’s Junior National Select Team has chosen Strong to be a part of their team, while she also earned a spot on the 2024 USA Women’s Nike Hoop Summit Team.

Strong was recently announced as the recipient of the 2024 Jersey Mike’s Naismith High School Player of the Year Trophy. She was also chosen to participate in the prestigious McDonald’s All-American Game.

Strong is currently being recognized as the top player in the country for the Class of 2024 by both ESPN and Prospects Nation. She has yet to make a decision on which college basketball team she will join.

Besides her basketball career, Strong maintains a GPA of 3.68 and has dedicated her time to volunteer work in her community, including beautification projects and coaching youth basketball. She is also actively involved in her church, participating in various community service projects.
