Schedule, tickets, how to watch, matchups for NCHSAA basketball regionals, state championships

The final schedule for the N.C. High School Athletic Association state championships in boys and girls basketball at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum has been determined.

This is the first time in which the NCHSAA has hosted a “Final Four” style event for the basketball regional championships and state championships. All regional championship games were played Monday through Thursday. The championships are Friday (for 1A and 3A) and Saturday (for 2A and 4A)

The NCHSAA implemented this adjustment to address increasing issues with regional facilities. In the previous year, the NCHSAA had to issue an apology when individuals who had bought tickets to regional championships were unable to enter due to overcrowding at the venues.

These are the pairings and timetable for the state finals.

State Championships for 1A and 3A Divisions will take place on Friday, March 15th.

  • “At 1:00 PM, the 1A Boys from Corvian Community will face off against Wilson Prep.”

  • At 3:30 PM, the West Rowan versus Terry Sanford match will be taking place for the 3A Girls division.

  • At 6:00 PM, the 1A Girls’ basketball game will be between Cherokee and East Columbus.

  • “Central Cabarrus to face Seventy First in 3A Boys game at 8:30 PM.”
