On Tuesday, four individuals representing four different countries returned to Earth aboard SpaceX after completing a six-month mission at the International Space Station.

The capsule raced across the United States during the early hours of the morning and landed with a splash in the Gulf of Mexico near the Florida Panhandle.

Jasmin Moghbeli, a Marine pilot, was the leader of the group of astronauts who returned to NASA. This group included Andreas Mogensen from Denmark, Satoshi Furukawa from Japan, and Konstantin Borisov from Russia.

In August of last year, they relocated to the space station. Last week, their successors arrived in a SpaceX capsule of their own.

“Before departing the orbiting complex on Monday, Moghbeli radioed to say that they had left peanut butter and tortillas for you. In response, NASA’s Loral O’Hara replied, ‘I already miss you all and thank you for the generous gift.'”

O’Hara is scheduled to spend a few more weeks at the space station before departing via a Russian Soyuz capsule.

Prior to departing the space station, Mogensen expressed via the social media platform X (previously known as Twitter) his anticipation for hearing the sound of birds chirping in the trees and his desire for something crunchy to eat.

To prepare for potential rocket malfunctions, NASA prioritizes having multiple modes of transport available. In line with this, Boeing is set to launch a two-pilot test flight for an astronaut taxi service starting in early May.
