The timetable for the NCHSAA basketball finals in Winston-Salem has been published.

The N.C. High School Athletic Association announced the schedule for championship week for both boys’ and girls’ basketball.

After the fourth round of the playoffs, specific games will be allotted time slots. The assignments will be determined by considering the optimal arrangements for the participating teams.

The NCHSAA will now be hosting a “Final Four” style tournament for both basketball regional and state championships. This change entails that all games for both regional and state championships will take place at a neutral location over the course of six days.

The venue for the events will be the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum at Wake Forest University. The games will start on Monday, March 11th and end on Saturday, March 16th.

The NCHSAA implemented this modification due to increasing issues with local locations. In the previous year, the NCHSAA had to issue an apology after those who bought tickets to regional championships were unable to enter due to overcrowding at the venues.

This is the timetable for the local tournaments.

  • On Monday, March 11, the regional championships for 1A boys and girls will take place.

  • On Tuesday, March 12, the regional championships for 3A boys and girls will take place.

  • On March 13th, a regional championship for 2A boys and girls was held.

  • On Thursday, March 14, the regional championships for 4A boys and girls will take place.

Each day, there will be four regional championships held at Lawrence Joel starting at 2 p.m. The following games will start approximately 20 minutes after the previous game ends. The approximate game times are 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8 p.m.

The state championship matches will take place on Friday and Saturday. Below is the schedule for the state championship:

  • Friday, March 15: 1A & 3A boys & girls state championships
  • On Saturday, March 16, the state championships for 2A and 4A boys and girls will take place.

The state championships on Friday will take place at 1 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, they will be held at 12 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 5 p.m., and 7:30 p.m.

The basketball state playoffs have reached the third round, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, March 5 at the higher seed’s location. The fourth round will follow on Friday, March 8, also at the higher seed’s location. Teams who win the fourth round will move on to the regional championships the following week.

The entirety of the regional and state championship games will be covered by HighSchoolOT.
