Oxford United are one of the oldest clubs in the League One as they were founded back in 1893. However, Oxford United adopted their current name 67 years later and have been playing under it ever since.

John Shuker holds the record for the most league appearances by an Oxford player, with a total of 478 games played for the club between 1962 and 1977. In contrast, Jim Magilton is the club’s top-performing international player, having played in 18 games for Northern Ireland.
