Four state titles.

No losses.

Cameron Stinson, a senior at Mallard Creek High School, achieved a significant accomplishment by becoming the 14th wrestler in the history of the N.C. High School Athletic Association to win four individual championships. He secured the 4A 126-pound title on Saturday.

Stinson is one of only three wrestlers in the NCHSAA to achieve four consecutive victories without ever losing a match in their career. The other two wrestlers to accomplish this feat are Mike Kendall from Albemarle and JohnMark Bently from Avery County.

Stinson achieved victory by pinning Purnell Swett’s DeVon Connor at the 4:29 mark in their match, concluding his senior year with an undefeated 62-0 record. Over the span of four years, his official record stands at an impressive 205-0.

Stinson and Robbinsville’s Kage Williams were the only two wrestlers to achieve their fourth NCHSAA titles during the event. In the past four years, five wrestlers have managed to do so, breaking an 11-year streak of no four-year champions from 2010-2020.
