This week, President Joe Biden is strongly emphasizing his stance on reproductive rights by utilizing executive measures, releasing a new campaign advertisement, and holding a rally on the same day as the New Hampshire primary.

On the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade, there has been an increase in messaging and policy efforts as part of a larger strategy for the upcoming election to contrast Democrats, who promise to safeguard access to abortion and contraception, with Republicans who advocate for more limitations.

Biden issued a statement warning about the continued efforts of Republicans to implement a nationwide ban and impose harmful limitations. He expressed concern for the impact on women’s health and well-being due to the actions of Republican politicians.

The plan of action by President Biden involves an advertisement released on Sunday that showcases a Texas OB-GYN who had to leave the state in order to terminate her desired but nonviable pregnancy. On Monday, the executive actions announced by the White House aim to enhance accessibility to abortion and contraception. On the same day, Vice President Kamala Harris will begin a nationwide tour focused on reproductive freedoms in Wisconsin, with over a dozen stops planned to highlight the impact of abortion restrictions on pregnant individuals.

The safeguards put in place by voters in response to the decline of Roe v. Wade, including those in her state, would be at risk if Donald Trump or another Republican were to win the November election.

“We cannot have a president who will take away the hard-earned rights we have fought to preserve,” she stated, giving a preview of the message she will share at various events in Michigan. “One candidate is committed to utilizing all resources to safeguard a woman’s right to make her own choices. Meanwhile, the other candidate is pleased that his appointees have altered the court and stripped American women of this right.”

Although they do not support a nationwide ban, anti-abortion organizations still back this individual and their stance on allowing exceptions for rape, incest, and the mother’s life. However, some conservatives disagree with these exceptions.

The request for comment from the Trump campaign went unanswered.

The Republican party is currently divided on how to take advantage of the decline of Roe v. Wade in the face of a growing public opposition to state-level abortion bans. Some suggest leaving the decision to individual states, while others avoid the topic altogether. Many are pushing for more forceful measures to restrict abortion access across the country.

Conservative activists who gathered Friday and Saturday in DC to mark the anniversary of Roe called for the next president to stack his or her administration with anti-abortion officials who would use executive power at many different agencies to restrict abortion, including in states where it’s legally protected.

For instance, during a yearly anti-abortion event organized by Students for Life, Mike Pence, the previous vice president under Trump’s administration, stated on Saturday that the incoming president should promptly instruct the Food and Drug Administration to remove the abortion pill from the market.

The recent actions taken by the Biden administration include the implementation of an executive order on Monday that aims to educate patients and doctors about their rights under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA). This includes providing a simpler process for patients to file complaints if they are denied an abortion in an emergency situation, as well as strengthening the team at the Department of Health and Human Services responsible for reviewing these complaints and ensuring hospitals are following the law. These actions come as the Supreme Court prepares to hear arguments in April regarding hospitals’ duty to provide abortions to pregnant individuals facing a medical emergency.

The Biden government has been under fire for not taking sufficient action in regards to EMTALA complaints that have been submitted, such as denying a complaint made by an Oklahoma woman last autumn. The woman had severe pregnancy complications and was instructed to wait in the hospital parking lot until her health worsened enough to qualify for an exemption from the state’s ban.

The government will provide instructions mandating insurance companies to include a wider selection of birth control options without any additional fees, in accordance with the 2010 Healthcare Reform Act.Affordable Care Act

This is a request that Democrats in Congress have been making, and it has finally been addressed. The Office of Personnel Management will also distribute this information to insurance companies that provide coverage for federal employees, and they will be obligated to notify their members about their entitlements and advantages.
