Charlotte offers All-State athlete DeAndre Nance

DeAndre Nance, the all-state quarterback for Seventy-First High School, has received a verbal offer for a scholarship from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

This is the second opportunity extended to a student in the graduating class of 2025. The first offer was received from Alabama A&M in December.

Nance is the quarterback for the Falcons. He is a 6-foot-3, 185-pound junior who was recognized as an athlete on the second team of the 2023 HighSchoolOT All-State Football Team. Nance had an impressive 69.4% completion rate, throwing for 1,639 yards, 29 touchdowns, and only three interceptions. He also excelled as a rusher, gaining 1,691 yards and scoring 38 touchdowns on 166 carries. Nance was honored as the Offensive Player of the Year in the United 8 Conference.

Since his first year as a member of the varsity team, the outstanding Falcon player has played a crucial role. Throughout his time, Nance has accumulated 3,452 yards, 41 touchdowns, and eight interceptions through passing. Additionally, he has achieved 2,885 yards and 54 touchdowns through rushing.

In the 2023 season, Seventy-First had a 15-1 record. They were defeated by Hickory by one point in the N.C. High School Athletic Association’s 3A state championship game.

Charlotte received the same offer on the day that Donavan Frederick, Nance’s teammate, did.
