Donavan Frederick, a linebacker for the Seventy-First All-State team, has received his first offer.
UNC Charlotte’s football team has offered Seventy-First High School linebacker Donavan Frederick a verbal scholarship, making them the first school to do so.
This is the initial proposal for the outstanding junior. He is recorded as being 6 feet and 2 inches tall, and weighs 200 pounds.
Frederick has been integral to Seventy-First’s recent achievements, excelling in both the positions of linebacker and running back.
He was selected as a first team linebacker for the 2023 All-State Football Team by HighSchoolOT. He was the sole junior on the first team.
In Frederick’s 2023 season, he made a total of 175 tackles (averaging 10.9 per game), 48 of which were for a loss. He also had six sacks, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. On the offensive side, he dominated opposing defenses with 151 carries for 1,634 yards (averaging 10.8 per carry and 102.1 per game) and scoring 10 touchdowns.
Throughout his professional journey, the young player has accumulated 361 tackles in total, including 79 tackles for a loss. He has also achieved 1,886 rushing yards and scored 14 touchdowns.
In the 2023 season, Seventy-First had a record of 15 wins and 1 loss. They were defeated by one touchdown in the N.C. High School Athletic Association’s 3A state championship game.
On the same day, Charlotte extended an offer to Frederick’s quarterback, DeAndre Nance.
