Grimsley gets revenge on Page for their previous loss with Richard Goods’ double-double performance.

Grimsley made sure to avoid experiencing the same outcome as it did during the Christmas season.

The Whirlies improved upon their past mistakes from the HaeCo Invitational and easily defeated their longstanding rival, Page, with a score of 77-57 on Friday. This victory comes after competing in Guilford County’s top holiday tournament.

Darren Corbett, the coach, stated that his team lacked energy at the beginning of the game in December. However, on Friday, they showed great intensity and were ahead with a score of 33-16 at halftime, with a strong first quarter of 22-6.

The Whirlies (11-3, 5-0) have a current winning streak of six games since their loss to Page and are currently in first place in the Metro Conference along with Northern Guilford.

Richard Goods, the experienced center for Grimsley, contributed 15 points and 15 rebounds to lead the team. Prior to this game, he had been averaging 21.5 points and 13.7 rebounds per game. Fellow teammates Kareem Osman (13), Nick Keith (18), and Kaden Catoe (15) also had double-digit scores.

Jackson Sellers dominated the game by aggressively driving to the basket, earning a game-high of 22 points for Page (7-7, 2-2).
