Accrington Stanley, an English football club established in 1891 and reorganized in 1968, currently competes in League One. Between 1921 and 1962, the team played in the Football League and then spent its final four seasons in the Lancashire Combination.

The Accy have gained recognition for their primary red uniform, while they sport sky blue jerseys and white shorts when competing away from home. The team, which is in League One, hosts their matches at Crown Ground, a stadium with a capacity of 5,450 people (including 3,100 seats). Accrington has been using Crown Ground as their home field since 1970.

Listed as the all-time favourite player amongst fans, Chris Grimshaw is one of the most famous Accrington Stanley footballers. However, George Stewart is the team’s top scorer, netting 136 goals in total from 1954 to 1958. It has to be noted that the Accy have yet to represent England in European competitions.
