On Wednesday, numerous high school football players from North Carolina will make their commitments official by signing national letters of intent with their chosen colleges.

National Signing Day is a significant event for the future of every college football team.

Josiah McLaurin, a wide receiver for Clinton High School, has officially committed to play football at the University of Maryland.

On Wednesday, Josiah McLaurin, a three-star athlete from Clinton, officially committed to attending the University of Maryland by signing his national letter of intent.

Per 247Sports.com, McLaurin ranks as the 41st best player in North Carolina for the Class of 2024. He has a height of 6 feet and weighs 180 pounds.

McLaurin tallied 1,170 rushing yards and 509 receiving yards in 12 games, scoring a total of 27 touchdowns on the ground and nine through the air.

A new twist: Amaris Williams will be going to Auburn!

On National Signing Day in North Carolina, there was a change in plans for Amaris Williams from Clinton High School. The four-star defensive lineman, who had previously committed to Florida, ultimately chose to sign with Auburn instead.

According to 247Sports.com, Williams is the top player from the Class of 2024 in North Carolina and ranked as the 34th best player nationally.

Virginia Tech has officially recruited all three players from North Carolina that had previously given verbal commitments.

The Hokies signed Tyler Mason, a two-time state champion and running back from Mount Airy, on Wednesday morning. Standing at 6 feet and weighing 185 pounds, the three-star athlete rushed for 2,213 yards and scored 39 touchdowns on 170 carries this season. Throughout his career, he accumulated 6,022 rushing yards and scored 111 rushing touchdowns.

Deric Dandy, a talented edge rusher from Mount Airy, has officially committed to play for the Hokies. According to ESPN, Dandy is a three-star recruit and is currently ranked 27th in the state. Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 200 pounds, he had an impressive season with 111 tackles, 49 of which were for loss, and 12 sacks. Additionally, Dandy had 31 quarterback hurries, one interception, one pass deflection, and three forced fumbles.

Quentin Reddish, a four-star safety from Independence, measures 6 feet and 3 inches tall and weighs 187 pounds. He has been ranked as the sixth best player in North Carolina by On3.com and the 18th best safety in the country. In 14 games played this season, Reddish has accumulated a total of 72 tackles, with two of them resulting in a loss. Additionally, he has made five interceptions, deflected 14 passes, blocked one punt, and blocked one field goal.

UNC signs Grimsley WR Alex Taylor.

On Wednesday, Alex Taylor, a four-star wide receiver according to On3.com, officially committed to UNC by signing his national letter of intent.

Taylor is 6 feet and 3 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds. In 14 games for the Whirlies, Taylor made 63 catches, gaining a total of 1,067 receiving yards and scoring 14 touchdowns.

Malcolm Ziglar from Fuquay-Varina has committed to play football for the University of North Carolina.

A highly ranked athlete from North Carolina, Malcolm Ziglar, has committed to playing for UNC. The 4-star safety from Fuquay-Varina has officially joined the Tar Heels.

Ziglar is 6 feet and 2 inches tall and weighs 195 pounds. According to On3.com, he is ranked as the fourth best player in the state.

During this season, Ziglar made 74 tackles, had 8 successful passes defended, forced 3 fumbles, and recovered one for a touchdown. On the offensive side, he gained 1,125 yards rushing and 114 yards receiving. He also scored a total of 19 touchdowns.

Highly-rated quick player Jonathan Paylor commits to NC State.

Jonathan Paylor, a highly rated athlete from Cummings High School, solidified his decision to attend NC State by signing with the Wolfpack on Wednesday.

Paylor’s height is 5 feet and 9 inches, and he weighs 170 pounds. During this season with Cummings, he ran for a total of 2,378 yards and scored 30 touchdowns. He also had 381 receiving yards and made three touchdown catches.

Javarius Green, a wide receiver from Crest High School, has officially committed to play football at the University of North Carolina.

According to all major recruiting websites, Green is ranked as a three-star player. On 247Sports.com, he is listed as the No. 14 player in his state and the No. 67 wide receiver in the nation.

In 14 matches, Green made 61 receptions for 1,245 yards and scored 17 touchdowns for Crest.

NC State has officially signed 3-star defensive lineman Tyler West.

Tyler West, a three-star defensive lineman from Andrews High School, committed to NC State on Wednesday morning.

West is 6 feet and 5 inches tall and weighs 270 pounds. According to 247Sports.com, he is ranked as the 38th best player in North Carolina for the Class of 2024 and the 104th best offensive tackle nationally.

West made a commitment to join the Wolfpack during the month of August.

Terrell Anderson has decided not to change his commitment and has officially signed with NC State.

There were rumors that Terrell Anderson, a highly-rated wide receiver from Grimsley, might switch his commitment to Georgia. He was given an offer from the Bulldogs in October and visited the campus officially in November, but ultimately decided to sign with NC State on Wednesday.

The top-rated player in NC State’s 2024 recruiting class is Anderson.

At a height of 6 feet and 3 inches and weighing 184 pounds, Anderson had a total of 64 receptions for 1,114 yards and 14 touchdowns in his final year of high school. He also had 1,534 all-purpose yards, with an average of 109.6 yards per game.

Calloway is 6 feet and 7 inches tall and weighs 300 pounds. He has been rated as a four-star prospect by both On3.com and Rivals.com.

Trent Mitchell, an occupational therapist from Ashbrook, has officially committed to joining the Wolfpack team.

NC State has added local talent to their team with the signing of offensive tackle Trent Mitchell from Ashbrook. Mitchell, who stands at 6-foot-6 and weighs 290 pounds, is a three-star prospect. According to 247Sports.com, he is ranked as the 39th best player in North Carolina and the 105th best offensive tackle in the country.

Desmond Jackson, an offensive lineman from West Forsyth, has officially committed to play football at the University of North Carolina.

Desmond Jackson, a 3-star offensive lineman from West Forsyth, officially committed to UNC on Wednesday morning.

According to Rivals.com, Jackson is ranked as the 28th best player in the state. He made a commitment to the Tar Heels on January 26th, following an unofficial visit to Chapel Hill.

Brody Barnhardt, a safety from Providence Day, has committed to play football for North Carolina State University.

Brody Barnhardt, a three-star safety from Providence Day, initially committed to NC State in April. However, on Wednesday morning, he officially signed with the Wolfpack.

Barnhardt is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. According to ESPN, he is the 11th best player in North Carolina and the 33rd best safety in the country.

Barnhardt, who was a state champion at Providence Day, had an impressive performance this fall with 109 total tackles in 13 games. He also had five tackles for loss, eight quarterback hurries, three interceptions, two pass deflections, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

Johnathan Montague, quarterback for Clayton High School, has officially signed with Boston College.

Shortly after making a commitment to Boston College, Clayton High School’s quarterback Johnathan Montague officially signed with the university on Wednesday morning.

Montague, standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 205 pounds, is a versatile quarterback. In the last season, he successfully completed 122 out of 187 passes, totaling 1,601 yards and scoring 13 touchdowns while only throwing three interceptions. Additionally, he ran for 2,578 yards and an impressive 41 touchdowns on 293 carries.

Weddington cornerback Sam Neely has officially committed to playing football at Wake Forest University.

Following his commitment to the Demon Deacons in April, three-star cornerback Sam Neely from Weddington officially signed with Wake Forest on Wednesday morning.

Neely is currently in the No. 43 spot for North Carolina’s Class of 2024 and is ranked as the No. 118 corner in the nation according to 247Sports.com.

Neely had an impressive performance this season, playing in 14 games and tallying a total of 70 tackles. He also had six tackles for loss and contributed 22 pass deflections and one fumble recovery, ultimately helping his team win the NCHSAA 4A state championship.

Keenan Jackson has announced that an announcement will be made in the near future.

Keenan Jackson, a 4-star receiver from Weddington High School, tweeted this morning at around 7:50 AM that he will be making an announcement soon after decommitting from UNC last night.

Last season, Jackson had 102 receptions for 1,704 yards and scored 21 touchdowns. He was awarded MVP of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A state championship game.

Zane Williams, a linebacker from Wake Forest, officially commits to playing for NC State.

Zane Williams, a three-star prospect from Wake County, signed with NC State, making him the latest addition to the Pack’s recruiting class. According to 247Sports.com, Williams is ranked as the 47th best player in North Carolina from the Class of 2024.

At a height of 5 feet and 11 inches and weighing 210 pounds, Williams made 96 tackles, with 24.5 of them being for a loss, and four sacks in nine games during the autumn season. He also had eight instances of deflecting passes and blocked one field goal.

RB Isiah Jones from Rolesville commits to NC State University.

On National Signing Day, Isiah Jones became the second player to officially join NC State’s team. He was also the first from his state to sign with the school. Jones made his commitment to the Wolfpack in June.

Jones is a 5’10”, 190 lb running back who has been given a three-star rating by all prominent recruiting websites. According to 247Sports.com, he is ranked as the 40th best player in North Carolina in the Class of 2024 and the 88th best running back in the country.

Keenan Jackson has withdrawn his commitment from UNC just before National Signing Day.

On Tuesday evening, Keenan Jackson, a highly rated wide receiver according to Rivals.com, surprised supporters of UNC by declaring that he will no longer be committing to the Tar Heels.

Jackson was named the most valuable player of the 4A state championship by the N.C. High School Athletic Association. He had a total of 1,704 receiving yards and scored 19 touchdowns during the season. He is currently in the running for the HSOT Honors Offensive Player of the Year award.

It is anticipated that Jackson will finalize his commitment to a school on Wednesday. His decision is sure to be a major topic of discussion in North Carolina on that day.
