Panther Creek alum Carson Vinson drafted by the Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens selected Panther Creek High School graduate Carson Vinson with the No. 141 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
General manager Eric DeCosta and head coach John Harbaugh see an offensive tackle with unqiue athletic traits in Vinson.
The fifth round pick boasts a 6-foot-7, 321-pound frame and uncommon movement skills for that body type.
At Panther Creek, he was a three-year starter for the Catamounts at multiple spots along the line.
Under-recruited out of Panther Creek, Vinson committed to Alabama A&M University over NC Central University. After proving himself as an effective player early at Alabama A&M, some of the local schools were interested in getting Vinson to transfer home, but he chose to stay at the school that believed in him.
Vinson is Alabama A&M’s first draft pick since 2011. He started for the Bulldogs for five seasons.
He was also the first HBCU player to be drafted since the 2023 NFL Draft.
A round later, the Ravens selected fellow Wake County native Aeneas Peebles, a defensive tackle. Vinson and Peebles are sure to spend some time going against one another in practice.
