NCHSAA Foundation announces 2025 Clay Medal Scholarship winners
The NCHSAA Foundation has announced the 2025 recipients of te Clay Medal Scholarship.
The prestigious award honors student-athletes who exemplify outstanding academic achievement, athletic excellence, leadership, and community service. The scholarship amounts to $3,000 per winner.
Vincent Gregory of North Mekclenburg High School and Elyana Hvastkovs of D.H. Conley High School are this year’s recipients.
“Congratulations to Elyana and Vincent for their remarkable achievements and contributions,” the NCHSAA Foundation said. “Their dedication to academics, athletics, and leadership truly reflects the spirit of the Clary Medal Scholarship.”
Elyana Hvastkovs – D.H. Conley High School
Elyana Hvastkovs, a D.H. Conley High School senior, has demonstrated exceptional dedication in academics and athletics. As a multi-sport athlete, Elyana has excelled in cross country and track & field while maintaining an impressive academic record. Her commitment to leadership is evident through her involvement in school and community initiatives, including mentoring younger students and advocating for student-athlete well-being. Elyana’s passion for excellence extends beyond the classroom and the track, as she actively contributes to service projects that uplift those around her.
Vincent Gregory – North Mecklenburg High School
Vincent Gregory, a North Mecklenburg High School senior, has made a significant impact as a student-athlete and leader. Competing in cross country and track & field, Vincent has achieved notable success while balancing rigorous academic coursework. His leadership extends beyond athletics, as he has played an integral role in student government, community service projects, and mentorship programs. Vincent’s dedication to excellence, integrity, and service embodies the core values of the Clary Medal, making him a deserving recipient of this esteemed award.
