North Carolina will pay its offensive and defensive coordinators more than $1.1 million in head coach Bill Belichick’s first season in Chapel Hill.

Defensive coordinator Steve Belichick will make $1.3 million, according to a UNC System salary database, and offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens will make $1.15 million in 2025.

The program’s coordinators combined to make $2.1 million last year.

Bill Belichick had a $10-million salary pool for assistant coaches, $1 million for strength and conditioning staff, $5.3 million for support staff (including general manager), according to his term sheet.

The combined salaries of those listed on UNC’s coaching staff, apart from general manager, come to slightly less than $7 million.

Here is a look at what the Tar Heels’ assistant coaches and other staff will make, according to the database. The school has not yet released terms of the assistant coaches’ contracts. Belichick’s contract was made public in late January.
