Terrance Gary is no longer the head football coach at Seaforth

Seaforth High School will have a new head football coach in 2025. On Friday, the school posted an opening for the role, which was previously held by Terrance Gary.

Gary was hired as the school’s first football coach when it opened ahead of the 2021-22 school year. He coached three varsity seasons – in 2022, 2023, and 2024. The Hawks started out 2-8 overall in 2022, improved to 4-6 in 2023, and finished 3-7 this past season.

The 2024 team lose a game by two points to Westover, by three points to Northwood, and by three points to Bartlett Yancey.

With an average daily membership of 1,123 students this school year, Seaforth is set to become a 5A school when the N.C. High School Athletic Association officially realigns into eight classifications later this year.

In the initial plan of conferences released by the NCHSAA, Seaforth was placed in a 5A-only conference with Cedar Ridge, Durham School of the Arts, Orange, Seaforth, South Granville, and J.F. Webb. This is subject to change following the appeal process.
