Statewide Boys Basketball Top 25: 6 teams join the 1st update after the holidays

HighSchoolOT has released its updated North Carolina high school boys basketball statewide rankings for the 2024-25 season.

HSOT has two sets of rankings: a statewide Top 25 and top 15s for each of North Carolina’s six area codes.

The area code rankings have already been released and can be found at the links below:

HighSchoolOT’s latest regional Top 15 rankings for boys basketball

Six teams are new the to the HSOT Top 25 in this update: No. 16 East Henderson, No. 21 Northwood, No. 22 Forsyth Country Day, No. 23 Garner, No. 24 Wayne County Day, and No. 25 McDowell.

Southern Durham and New Hanover made moves into the top 10. Southern is now No. 6 and New Hanover is now No. 7. Green Level dropped out of the top 10 to No. 11 and Ben L. Smith dropped from No. 5 to all the way out of the Top 25 after losing to Greensboro Day and unranked Dudley.
