The 2024 HighSchoolOT All-State Girls Tennis Team

The 2024 HighSchoolOT All-State Girls Tennis Team

The fifth-annual HighSchoolOT girls tennis all-state team features 19 players making their second, third, or fourth appearance on the team, including four players who were repeat first-team selections.

There is a first, second, and third team with 10 players each and a 15-player Honorable Mention team. Players were selected based on their singles play from throughout the year and doubles competition was not a factor.

Previous HSOT All-State teams, final rankings

The team is listed below with NCHSAA finish (if qualified for the individual tournament) and win-loss record according to MaxPreps or other sources. Records may be missing results — for instance, a singles runner-up may be listed with 0 losses because no source had the most up-to-date W-L record. Players are organized by the alphabetical order of their school. Some highlights:

  • Charlotte Christian’s Sophia Harris and New Hanover’s Sophia Catino graduate as four-time selections and three-time first-teamers.
  • Charlotte Country Day’s Anna Torstrick also graduates as a four-time selection, having made first team twice.
  • There were four total four-time selections, the fourth being North Lincoln’s Emma Carver.
  • There are three three-time selections: Myers Park’s Teagan Reilly and Lake Norman Charter’s Luci Falls, and Mount Airy’s Carrie Marion.
  • Reilly, a junior, has made the first team all three years.
  • Harris, Catino, Torstrick, and Reilly were the only repeat first-team selections.
  • There are 12 two-time selections: Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill’s Kristen Strickler, East Lincoln’s Karsyn Sink, Cape Fear Academy’s Taylor Garriott, Arendell Parrott’s Susannah Swindell, Green Hope’s Brianna Stewart, Cardinal Gibbons’ Celeste Davis, Charlotte Catholic’s Ella Davis, North Raleigh Christian’s Emerson White, Cuthbertson’s Harni Anand, Highland Tech’s Madison Darnell, NCSSM-Morganton’s Manya Nallagangu, and Panther Creek’s Laura Gomez.
  • The three freshman on first team ties 2021 and 2020 for the most. The 2020 team also had an eighth-grader on the first team.
