North Carolina High School Football Rankings: The Top 25 teams in the state right now

HighSchoolOT has released its updated North Carolina high school football rankings following the action of week 12.

HSOT has two sets of rankings: a statewide Top 25 and top 15s for each of North Carolina’s six area codes.

N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A state champion Grimsley is the clear and obvious No. 1 team in North Carolina at the end of the 2024 season. The Whirlies defeated No. 2 Hough 35-28 in the fourth round, No. 3 Weddington 35-23 in the regional final, and No. 4 Rolesville 35-23 in the state championship.

West Charlotte’s impressive postseason run led it to the No. 5 spot. There is some separation between Hough and West Charlotte due to the Huskies beating the Lions 40-14 earlier in the season. 3A state runner up Seventy-First is ranked No. 6 after losing to West Charlotte 14-7.

4A East runner-up Cardinal Gibbons is the third-highest ranked team from the East at No. 7. N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association Division I runner-up Providence Day is No. 8.

2A state champion Monroe is No. 9. 1A state champion Tarboro is No. 14. 2A runner-up Northeastern is No. 23 and 1A runner-up Corvian Community is No. 24.
