No. 13 Apex Friendship girls basketball picks up important win at Green Hope
CARY, N.C. — Behind 25 points from Jasmine Nivar, the No. 13 Apex Friendship girls basketball team won their third in a row with a 55-45 victory at Southwest Wake Athletic Conference foe Green Hope on Tuesday.
Apex Friendship (7-1, 3-0) already owns a big head-to-head win over No. 14 Seaforth and its only loss came to No. 12 Southeast Raleigh.
The Patriots led 27-23 at halftime but put away Green Hope for good with a strong third quarter that was highlighted by a number of assists and transition points. Apex Friendship outscored the Falcons 17-6 in the third.
Green Hope (6-3, 1-2) now has two conference losses, the other coming to Middle Creek. The Falcons’ comeback effort took a big blow in the late fourth quarter when Abigail Brown fouled out. The Lenoir-Rhyne recruit finished with 11 points. Shawn Sisk had 11 as well, while Bella Cook had a team-high 14.
