Boys soccer playoff brackets set by NCHSAA, first round is this weekend
The N.C. High School Athletic Association has released the official state playoff brackets for boys soccer.
The brackets were released after the NCHSAA issued preliminary brackets earlier in the day, which gave schools a chance to look for errors.
The bracketing process began on Thursday morning as the NCHSAA released the final RPI rankings and conference finishes for each school.
All automatic qualifiers were determined first, which is based on the conference finish of each team. Once the automatic qualifiers are reviewed, the NCHSAA determines the at-large qualifiers based on RPI ranking.
When each of the brackets are full, the NCHSAA then seeds the brackets based on RPI rankings.
First round games are scheduled for Nov. 9, although some games may happen on Nov. 8. Second round games are scheduled for Nov. 12, third round games for Nov. 14, and fourth round games for Nov. 16.
Boys soccer regionals will take place on Nov. 19, and state championships will be played on Nov. 22 and Nov. 23.
The first rive rounds are played at the higher seed. State championships will be played at the Mecklenburg County Sportsplex at Matthews.
