Lazio vs Cagliari Prediction & Betting Tips | 04/11/2024 | Football

Our prediction for this Serie A match:

Lazio

Lazio

Cagliari

Cagliari

Monday’s clash between Lazio and Cagliari will close round 11 of the new Serie A campaign. The Biancocelesti have been producing excellent displays under Marco Baroni and they must be high on confidence following a 5-1 crushing of Como. Even though defender Nuno Tavares misses out through suspension, home win should be considered as Baroni can count on key players for the Cagliari game. Mattia Zaccagni is a major doubt after missing the midweek triumph through illness.

The Rossoblu, on the other hand, failed to impress in back-to-back losses to Udinese (0-2) and Bologna (0-2). Considering that Lazio have turned Stadio Olimpico into a real fortress, we do not believe that the Sardinians are capable of grabbing something from the match. Cagliari midfielder Antoine Makoumbou is back from suspension. In their last meeting in the “Eternal City” Lazio defeated Cagliari 1-0, with Pedro scoring the only goal of the game.

Prediction:
2-0

Highlighted Player (Elseid Hysaj):

Elseid Hysaj

Born on 2nd February 1994, Elseid Hysaj is an Albanian defender who has spent his entire professional career in Italian Serie A and he is predicted a bright future in the game. Empoli scouts spotted his talent while he was playing for Shodra youth sides, and after three years in the youth team, the full-back was promoted to the first team set up.

Hysaj performed really well in his first three years as a first team regular, helping the Azzurri gain promotion to the top fight in the process. One season in Serie A proved enough for the right-sided defender to secure a big club move as he joined Napoli in the summer of 2015 and immediately nailed down a regular starting berth.

Capable of doing dirty defensive work as well as making forward runs, Hysaj is a modern full-back, who is destined for big things. The talented footballer is already a key member of the Albania national team and he will represent the country at the Euro 2016 finals.

Highlighted Team (Cagliari):

Cagliari

Cagliari are a professional football club based in Cagliari, Sardinia. I Rossoblu (The Red and Blues) compete in Italian Serie A and the club’s biggest success came in 1970, when they won the national championship.

Cagliari finished the season in top position in the standings, four points clear of Juventus and it has to be noted that Luigi Riva led Cagliari to their first Serie A trophy.

I Rossoblu welcome their rivals at Stadio Sant’Elia and the capacity of the stadium is 16,000. In the 1993/1994 season Cagliari made it to the UEFA Cup semis, with the team suffering a loss to fellow Italian club Inter in the two-legged tie.

Giuseppe Pancaro helped Cagliari record a 3-2 win over Inter in the first leg, but I Rossoblu were hammered by the Nerazzurri in the second leg (3-0). Palermo are regarded as Cagliari’s main rivals and the two teams square off against each other in the Derby delle Isole.
