Offense

QB — Tyler Jones, junior, Kinston

• Jones completed 15 of 27 passing attempts for 404 yards, six touchdowns, and zero interceptions in Kinston’s 52-22 blowout win over East Duplin.

RB — Devin Witherspoon, junior, Cummings

• Witherspoon, who spends some time as a quarterback, had a big game as a rusher against Graham. On 13 carries, he rushed for 243 yards and two touchdowns, including a long of 84 yards.

RB — Cam Kelly, senior, Walkertown

• Kelly had a load of 35 carries but rushed for 256 yards and Walkertown’s only two touchdowns in the Wolfpack’s 14-6 win over T.W. Andrews. He also had two receptions for 44 yards.

WR — DeQuadre Currence, senior, Butler

• Butler’s best player had five catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns in the Bulldogs’ big 8-10 win over Providence to continue positive momentum.

WR — Jayden Hill, senior, Lee County

• The senior had a huge game on both sides of the ball. As a receiver, Hill caught 11 passes for 151 yards and three touchdowns. On defense, he had two pass breakups. His three touchdowns led Lee past Hoke County 24-20.

FLEX — Major Leak, senior, Lake Norman Charter

• Besides having one of the best names in the state, Leak had one of the best performances in the state this week as he caught eight passes for 154 yards and a touchdown. Lake Norman Charter handled Albemarle, 24-8.

OL — Donovan Johnson, junior, Pine Forest

• The 6-foot-4, 320-pound tackle is a Division I prospect because of his surprising mobility and welcomed physicality for his size. He helped Pine Firest rush for 304 yards and four touchdowns and throw for 207 yards and four touchdowns in the Trojans’ huge 61-14 win over Western Harnett.

OL — Cam Hill, senior, Jacksonville

• The Old Dominion commit helped Jacksonville rush for 264 yards and five touchdowns against New Bern from his center position. The Cards now lead the Big Carolina Conference after the 34-24 win. Hill is 6-foot-4, 300 pounds.

OL — Reginald Holmes Jr, junior, Wilson Prep

• The 6-foot-4, 310-pound Holmes helped pave the way for a Wilson Prep offense that accumulated 564 yards of total offense, 177 of which game on the ground, and five touchdowns.

OL — Isaiah Locklear, senior, Scotland

• The 6-foot-3, 295-pound lineman has been great again for Scotland this season. On Thursday, Locklear helped Scotland’s offense rush for 316 yards and five touchdowns in a blowout win over Southern Lee.

OL — PJ Williams, sophomore, Scotland

• Williams has been playing well on the defensive line and offensive line this season. Scotland rushed for 316 yards and five touchdowns in part because of Williams’ efforts at the left guard spot.

Defense

DL — Tejawn Weir, senior, Overhills

• In a shutout victory over E.E. Smith, Weir had nine total tackles, six tackles for a loss, three sacks, and two forced fumbles. One of the most dominant solo performances of the season.

DL — Malachi Jones, junior, Western Guilford

• The nose guard had nine total tackles, two tackles for a loss, and two forced fumbles in Western Guilford’s blowout win over Southwest Guilford.

DL — Xavier Johnson, junior, Jack Britt

• The 250-pound lineman had five total tackles, three tackles for a loss, and two sacks as Jack Britt shut out Lumberton in a huge game in the 4A side of the United 8 Conference.

DL — Kevin Toomer, senior, West Rowan

• In a 40-6 county rivalry win over South Rowan, the defensive end was credited with nine total tackles, seven solo, two tackles for a loss, two sacks, and two pass breakups.

LB — Blake Pennington, freshman, North Moore

• Pennington made 14 solo tackles, two tackles for a loss, and blocked two punts in North Moore’s 54-0 shutout victory over Jordan-Matthews. In coach Andrew Carrouth’s words, Blake will be a monster.

LB — Daniel Stanley, senior, West Stokes

• Stanley was part of a great effort from the West Stokes linebackers in the 24-6 win over Morehead. He finished with 13 total tackles, six tackles for a loss, and two sacks.

LB — Jackson Roscoe, senior, West Stokes

• Roscoe also stuffed the stat sheet along with Stanley. Jackson had 14 total tackles and five tackles for a loss.

DB — Kosci Barnes, junior, Grimsley

• The long 6-foot-3 junior corner hasn’t received many targets this season, but he had an opportunity against Northwest Guilford and grabbed his second interception of the season. He also made some physical stops in the run game.

DB — Mac Summerville, junior, Charlotte Country Day

• Summerville has been one of the state’s most productive defensive backs this year. In a 37-16 win over Cannon, he finished with five total tackles and two interceptions to raise his season picks total to seven.

DB — Tre Graves, junior, Hayesville

• Graves is a standout two-way player for the Yellowjackets. On Saturday, he led the team past Concord Christian in Tennessee with four total tackles, an interception, an 85-yard kickoff return touchdown, and 16 carries for 132 yards and a touchdown on offense.

FLEX — Tre Geathers, sophomore, Providence Day

• The sophomore defensive back/linebacker hybrid had seven total tackles, two tackles for a loss, two pass breakups, and two quarterback hurries in Providence Day’s 61-7 blowout win over NRCA.
