Ballantyne Ridge, Charlotte’s newest high school, selects school colors
Next year in August, Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools will open a new high school.
Ballantyne Ridge High School is scheduled to open before the start of the 2024-2025 school year, only two years after Palisades High School was established in 2022. These schools were built to alleviate the congestion at the highly populated high schools in South Charlotte, such as Myers Park, Ardrey Kell, and South Mecklenburg, which have been experiencing overcrowding for a while now.
The school will be situated on the outskirts of Ballantyne, a neighborhood that borders South Carolina. The school’s grounds are positioned in a triangular shape between South Mecklenburg, Providence, and Ardrey Kell High Schools. Ardrey Kell, located 3.5 miles away, will be the nearest competitor.
The school announced on Facebook that the designated school colors will be Carolina Blue, Clemson Orange, and Determined Grey.
Please take a look at them below:
It is likely that the school will be aligned with the current schools in the So. Mecklenburg Conference: Ardrey Kell, Berry Academy, Myers Park, Olympic, Palisades, and South Mecklenburg. None of these schools use orange or baby blue as part of their color schemes.
The post also mentioned that voting polls for deciding the name of the school mascot will be available in the near future.
