Two-time state champion Chadlyn Traylor commits to College of Charleston hoops
The floor general for North Mecklenburg, last year’s 4A state champs, knows where he’s going to play in college.
Chadlyn Traylor, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound senior guard who is regarded as one of the best defenders in the state, committed to College of Charleston on Sunday.
He was a third-team all-state selection last year after averaging 13.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game as a junior.
He’s also been part of two state title teams, his first coming at the 3A level as a freshman at West Charlotte.
In fact, both Traylor’s sophomore and freshman seasons were at West Charlotte, where he helped the Lions win the 3A title in 2022 as a freshman starter. He averaged 15.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.3 steals as a sophomore and 9.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.9 steals as a freshman.
