HSOT Jamboree called off due to public safety concerns

WAKE FOREST, N.C. — The HighSchoolOT Jamboree was called off halfway through the slate of games. According to a announcement made over the public address system, the decision was made due to public safety concerns.

During the second game of the planned four contests on Saturday, there was an incident in the stands, but the details are unknown.

HighSchoolOT has reached out to Wake County Public Schools System for comment.

Some fans left the stadium immediately following the incident, but the second game, between Cardinal Gibbons and Millbrook, was completed.

Wake Forest and Vance County were warming up when the announcement was made to cancel the rest of the events.

Rolesville and Southern Durham were in the stands, waiting to play in the night’s final game. All four teams were told over the PA to leave as well, and the last two games were not played.

Jordan defeated Vance County 28-6 in the first game. Millbrook defeated Cardinal Gibbons 28-3 in the second game.
