NC Softball Gatorade POTY Kina Davis changes commitment to UNC

Two months after the N.C. Baseball Gatorade Player of the Year switched his commitment to UNC, the N.C. Softball Gatorade Player of the Year has done the same with a different in-state school.

South Brunswick’s Kina Davis, a rising senior and previously committed to Charlotte, announced the change on Instagram on Wednesday. Davis led South Brunswick to the N.C. High School Athletic Association 3A softball championship this past year. In June, after a coaching change at Campbell baseball, Grace Christian of Sanford graduate Camron Seagraves changed his commitment to UNC.

As one of the top two-way players in the state, Davis made HSOT first-team all-state as a junior and was second-team as a sophomore.

She has 103 career hits at the plate and has struck out 623 batters in the circle.
